Rajendra Roy of the Museum of Modern Art to Deliver Keynote Presentation at International Film Festival Summit

New York, NY (PRWEB) November 25, 2009 -- The International Film Festival Summit (www.filmfestivalsummit.com) announced today that Rajendra Roy, The Celeste Bartos Chief Curator of Film, will deliver the opening keynote presentation for Day Two of the 6th annual International Film Festival Summit December 7th, 2009 at 10:00am

The keynote entitled: "Making Choices: The Beating Heart of Cinema", will discuss both the challenges and thrills in making informed choices in the film festival industry. Mr. Roy will focus on how festival programmers must entice the viewing public and patrons of cinema away from the familiar and safe spaces of the multiplex with the promise of discovery and risk. The presentation will also focus on how festivals may prove to be the catalyst for the ongoing survival of the theatrical cinematic experience, and could bring audiences together to experience something unique.

He began his work in independent film programming in 1992 as an undergrad at the University of California, San Diego.
